Video about New Site Features and Data Now Available

By Tonya Engst

Learn where this site’s data comes from and how to use it.

Every year, our team processes and loads new data from the American Community Survey so you can access it. We also create a new set of annual Disability Status Reports to provide the new data in report format for the United States overall, each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This year, we also added important new features.

We recently showcased these new features in a webinar, 30,000+ Places! 2026 Updates for DisabilityStatistics.org, and you can watch a recording of it now.

Webinar topics include:

  • Why we use the American Community Survey to provide data about disability.
  • What the new “place” data is, how to access this data, and how to create maps and charts based on it.
  • How to find and use the Ask Bill feature to get special help—Bill is an actual human expert, not an AI.
  • The difference between the 1-Year and 5-Year estimates on the Prevalence menu that you use to begin selecting the statistics you want to view.

There is much more in this recording, so tune in today!
